DOUG HOBBS

Controller

Doug Hobbs hails from the great state of West by-God Virginia. He thundered across the stage to receive his diploma from Marshall University in 1985 and moved down to Charlotte, NC. He passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam in 1993.

Mr. Hobbs came to UMS in March of 2016 from the field of Public Accounting. He worked for Chambers Paterno and Associates, Owen H. Whitfield, Dixon Hughes Goodman, and McCannon Rodgers Driscoll and Associates as a CPA. He accumulated 26 years of experience in accounting, specializing in corporate accounting and retirement benefit plans. He also worked for Wellman, Inc as an Internal Auditor and Progressive Electric as a Controller. He became the CFO of UMS in January of 2017. He oversees all aspects of finance and accounting.

Mr. Hobbs uses his skills with numbers and his love for sports serving his community. He has been a coach with Pop Warner football for the past 13 years. He is also the official scorekeeper for the Fort Mill High School varsity basketball team and the team statistician for the Fort Mill High School varsity football team.
